Sedona--Slide Rock

After we went on the Pink Jeep Tour, we had some time to kill, so we headed over to Slide Rock.  It is a creek running through the Red Rocks and has formed a natural waterslide.  We didn't bring swimsuits, but that didn't stop the boys from wading in the water (which was only 63 degrees)!  A.J. even went down the waterslide a couple of times!!!

Sedona--Pink Jeep Tour

On Friday, we did something that I have always wanted to do since we moved here...we went on a jeep tour of Sedona.  And since my family was here, I took them along for the ride!  Sedona has beautiful red rock formations and hiking them can be strenuous, so we rode a jeep up into the red rocks.  I don't know which was more fun...riding in the jeep and seeing all the formations or watching my mom sliding around in the jeep!  We definitely took her out of her comfort zone!

Hollywood

On Wednesday, we drove up the coast and took my mom to Hollywood.  I think she really enjoyed looking at all the stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.  Now when the Academy Awards are on tv, she can say she's been there!

U.S.S. Midway and La Jolla

On Tuesday, we walked the embarcadero to the U.S.S. Midway.  On our way there, we saw a dolphin swimming next to a boat.  The people on the boat were feeding the dolphin, then the dolphin jumped into the boat.  I'm not sure if it was a rehabilitation program or what was going on, but it was neat to see!  Then we went on a tour of the U.S.S. Midway, a naval aircraft carrier.  The boys said this was their favorite part of vacation...I thought the quarters were a little tight, myself.  After the tour, we drove up to La Jolla to see the sea lions and watch the sunset.  It was very cold, but beautiful.

Coronado Beach

My parents and sister came to visit for the week, and since my mom has never seen the ocean (except from an airplane), we decided to take a little road trip to San Diego.  We went to Coronado Beach on the first day...it is rated this year's number one beach in America!  I think my mom really enjoyed the ocean...she said it was very relaxing and peaceful (as peaceful as it can be with a 6 and 3 year old running around, screaming)!!!

I love this picture...my mom's first time in the ocean...I don't think she realized how cold the Pacific truly is!!!
