"Moving Buddy"

A.J. is a movie fanatic, and this morning when I was changing Isaac's diaper, he started quoting a monologue from Toy Story. It is the part when Woody is talking into the microphone and is telling the other toys about getting a moving buddy. We thought it was pretty funny! Saturday Fun

This morning, Andy took A.J. to the park to hit some golf balls and practice soccer. Isaac and I went up there a little later. When we all go home, A.J. and Isaac decided to play in the Power Wheels. This was Isaac's first actual time riding in it...he had a blast!!! A.J. just drove around the driveway in circles and Isaac had this perma-grin on his face the whole time! Isaac is also learning new things around the house. He is pulling up on everything now, crawling on his hands and knees, climbing up the stairs, and is just now starting to cruise. Let's just say he is definitely keeping us busy!!!

Day Off

On Friday, Andy took the day off, so we all piled into the van. We had no idea where we were going or what we were going to do, but we needed a break from the house for a while, so we just drove. Our first stop was the Scottsdale Fashion Center. It is a pretty nice mall just north of here. We walked around for a while, but didn't buy anything. Then we kept on driving and ate lunch at a little place called El Encanto in Cave Creek. The food there was delicious and A.J. loved the duck pond in the middle of the restaurant! Then we made a stop at another mall, the Anthem Outlet stores. A.J. had fun playing in the splash pad there, but again, we didn't buy anything (not as good of deals as I had hoped for). Finally, on our way home, we stopped by the Bass Pro Shop in Mesa. This was actually A.J.'s favorite part of the day...we let him play a game where you could shoot wild animals...who knew!!!

Andy and Isaac enjoyed lunch and the pond too!

Isaac's 9-Month Pics

Here are a few of Isaac's 9-month pictures. I'll try to get the actual pics in the mail soon, as well as the picture CD. The photographer wouldn't let me stand behind her, so Isaac hardly smiled in any of the pictures :-(

First Haircut!!!

Tonight, the family went out to do some shopping. It was rather breezy outside, and we noticed that Isaac's "mullet" was blowing in the wind! It was definitely time for his first haircut...overdue, actually. A.J. needed a haircut too, so we let him go first so Isaac could get used to the clippers. A.J. did awesome! He is getting so much better at sitting still and not crying (although I still can't justify spending money on haircuts, so I just do it myself). Next came Isaac. I first snipped some of his longer hair to put in the baby book. Then I trimmed up just his "mullet" with the clippers. I was surprised that he sat pretty still and didn't cry either. Now at least his hair does not hang over his collar anymore!!!

Before

After (hardly any difference, I know, but trust me...it looks better)

All smiles :-)

The other morning, A.J. "helped" me by feeding Isaac...there was cereal all over the high chair, floor, table, and of course, Isaac. Both boys thought it was really funny though...needless to say, we threw Isaac in the tub!!!

First Day of School!!!

Today was A.J.'s first day of preschool...I can't believe he is old enough for school already! It seems like just yesterday he was my only baby, small enough to hold in my arms. A.J. was very excited to go to school. He came running into our room at 5:45 this morning and said "Mommy, did you forget? I'm going to school today!" So, we got up, got ready for school, and off we went. A.J. didn't seem nervous at all and as soon as he got in the classroom, he started playing with the other kids and toys. I told him it was time for me to leave and he said "Bye" and didn't even look up! I guess that is better than a crying kid!

Oh, Fiddlesticks!

Friday night, we took A.J. miniature golfing for the very first time at a place called Fiddlesticks. A.J. did pretty good for his very first time, but I don't think he really got the concept, as he kept picking up his ball and putting it closer to the hole so he could hit it in. He had trouble judging how hard to hit the ball, and ended up pushing the ball with his putter. A.J. was more interested in everything else at this place, including the go-karts, water bumper boats, batting cages, driving range, amusement park, etc. You have got to love the attention span of a 3-year old! Oh well...kids ages 4 and under play for free, so it didn't cost us a cent. A.J. did end up beating Andy on a couple of holes, which I thought was funny :-)
