Me and My Boys

Last night, Isaac was a little fussy, so no one got much sleep (it couldn't have been the fact that Isaac slept almost the whole day yesterday and was ready to play all night)! So we just spent the morning in our pajamas, being lazy. A.J. has been a big help feeding Isaac (as you can see from the picture). I also posted a picture of our house with Christmas lights (this is just the front of the house...the back of the house has lights too). If are in Illinois and look toward the west, the bright light in the sky is probably our house!!!

"Summer" Fun

Although summer is officially over, our summer here in Arizona is just beginning. The weather has been great, and although both boys have had colds this past week, we did manage to get outside for a few minutes and play. A.J. loves his Powerwheels truck that he got for his birthday, and he's actually getting pretty good at driving it. He especially loves to haul things in the back bed. He really wants to take Isaac for a ride, but I told him we'll have to wait until Isaac can hold his head up on his own! We also put up our Christmas tree yesterday. A.J. loves the tree and has not stopped touching it and all of the ornaments, despite our yelling. I told Andy to just expect to come home from work one day and find the tree laying across the floor.

Isaac's First Bath

We gave Isaac his first real bath today. His umbilical stump actually fell off last weekend, but we wanted to make sure everything was healed before he took a dip in the tub (plus, it's easier to wait for the weekend so Daddy can take pictures and video)! A.J. helped bathe him and had a lot of fun in the bubbles as well. Isaac seemed to enjoy tub time!!!

Happy Birthday A.J.!!!

Today was A.J.'s 3rd birthday. We had planned on going to Chuck E. Cheese's for lunch, but A.J. woke up with a nasty cold, so we decided to order in pizza instead. We ate pizza, opened presents, and had birthday cake. Grandma and Grandpa were still here to help us celebrate the big day. Isaac, however, decided to sleep through most of the celebration!

Brothers

So everyone has been asking how A.J. is doing with the new baby. As you can see from the pictures, A.J. loves having a little brother. Sure, he still gets jealous at times, but for the most part, he loves playing with Isaac and is a big help to Mommy. He likes to shake rattles when Isaac is crying and will give him the pacifier. He also will throw away the dirty diapers!!! For the first couple of days, everytime we asked A.J. what his brother's name was, he would say "Jasmine." I have no idea where that came from, but now he calls him brother most of the time.

A.J. thought it was hilarious when Isaac would swing his arms and hit him

We're Home

We came home from the hospital Sunday afternoon (yep, that's right...surgery Friday, home on Sunday). Things around here have been crazy, between feedings, hormones, diaper changes, hormones, trying to sleep, hormones, adjusting to two kids, and did I mention hormones??? Andy has been great though. He realizes that I'm crazy and still loves me anyway. Having my parents here has also been a big help. They have been keeping A.J. busy while I try to recover from surgery. They're also great with the baby, and every once-in-a-while, I get to sneak a quick nap in! Isaac has been a pretty good baby so far. He eats, sleeps, and poops, although we're still trying to straighten out his days and nights. He only cries when he's hungry (and this boy has a set of lungs on him)! We took him to the doctor today for a 5-day check-up. He has lost some weight, but is still the same weight he was when he was discharged from the hospital, so the doctor was not too concerned. He also has some mild facial jaundice, but again, the doctor was not worried (but we've been sunning by the pool for a few minutes everyday anyway). Otherwise, we're all tired, but doing great!

IT'S A BOY!!!

Andy and I are very excited to announce the birth of our new son, Isaac James Davis. Isaac was born Friday, November 7, at 9:40 am. He weighed in at 9lbs 10oz, and was 21.5 inches long. Although he is a big baby, he seems tiny in comparison to our first born. Everyone is doing well, and we can't wait to start our family of four!

Baby Update

Hopefully, this will be the last baby update before the baby is born! We went to the doctor this morning for my 38-week check-up. Everything looked fine...the baby is still breech and had a heart rate of 143 bpm. The doctor measured my belly at 42 weeks, but thought the baby was just sprawled out...the way this one has been up in my ribs, I could have told her that! She didn't think it felt like a 10-pounder, like A.J. was. I feel like it weighs about 30 lbs!!! Anyway, we are looking forward to meeting the little one (and not being pregnant anymore)! As a funny side note, during A.J.'s bedtime routine, we like to read him books and then give him hugs and kisses. For the past couple of weeks, every time I get ready to hug him, he says "Ho, ho, ho! Merry Christmas", which Andy finds hysterical (me, not so amusing). My big, round belly must remind him of Santa!
