Isaac's first vacation
LEGOLAND
On Sunday and Wednesday, we went to Legoland. This park is mainly for younger kids, but it was nice because we didn't have to wait in long lines and A.J. loved the rides (although to ride some of the roller coasters, A.J. had to say he was four, even though he was tall enough...stupidest rule I have ever heard of). The Lego sculptures were amazing! How awesome of a job would it be to play with Legos everyday!!!

This was Mommy's favorite ride...although I never went on it, there were button I could press that made water spray from cannons that would soak the riders :)

SEA WORLD
On Monday and Thursday, we went to Sea World. I think Isaac liked this park a little better, as there was more things for him to look at. We watched the Shamu show, the dolphin show, petted the sting rays, dolphins, and starfish. Isaac did not like the 4D Elmo movie and scream through the entire show (I think it was the sudden loud noises and "rain" and "wind"). Both boys (as well as Mommy and Daddy) had a great time!

THE BEACH
On Tuesday, we went to Dolphin Beach. The waves were pretty big, thus all the surfers. A.J. had a great time playing in the waves and sand. Isaac, however, did not enjoy the actual water...it was way too cold for him. He eventually played in the sand a little, but then tried to eat it, so we had to stop him there. He spent most of the time there taking a little catnap!

SAN DIEGO CHILDREN'S MUSEUM
On Friday, we were going to go to the beach again, but the forcasted high was only 68 and it was cloudy. So we ditched that plan and decided to go to the Children's Museum instead. It was a major disappointment. There wasn't much for the kids to do, and A.J. got bored pretty quick. Even the Crawl room for people Isaac's age was made out of astroturf and fake mulch...Isaac wouldn't move when I put him down! A.J. did get to make a car, which was the highlight of the day. If you are planning a trip to San Diego, save your money and skip this place!!!

On the way home, Border Patrol stopped our car and started asking us a bunch of questions. Usually, if you have US plates and look somewhat American, they just let you through (our tax dollars hard at work). They asked where we were from, where we were headed, how many people we had in the car, etc. They kept looking in the back of the van as well. We thought this was a little strange, until we looked back and A.J. had fallen asleep with the blanket over his head! They must have thought we were smuggling illegals! Overall, it was a great vacation and a great escape from the heat!
